Important Information on Exposure to COVID-19 at Work

During this unprecedented period, while most New Yorkers are staying home to avoid contracting COVID-19, doctors, nurses, medical technicians, pharmacists, transport workers, taxi drivers, grocery store employees, and many others who have been deemed “essential” are putting themselves at risk of exposure day in and day out to maintain the basic functioning of our society.

If you contract COVID-19 at work, you are entitled to workers’ compensation benefits.

If you suffer work-related emotional or psychological trauma related to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be entitled to  workers’ compensation benefits.

As with all workers’ compensation claims, you should notify your employer of your intent to file a claim as soon as you know or even suspect that your condition is work-related and then consult an attorney.

My office is fully open for business during these difficult times, and I am both prepared and equipped to handle all aspects of your case remotely for the duration of these circumstances. The Workers’ Compensation Board is continuing to hold hearings virtually, claims are still being processed, and benefits are still being paid.
